Woolmark is a non for profit organisation that works alongside 60,000 wool growers to research, develop and certify Australian wool. Start Beyond, our agency was in charge of creating VR content that allows the viewer to follow the journey of Pete McBride, a national geographic adventurer.
We were tasked to create a VR app, shoot, produce and edit content pieces for it. Woolmark wanted a presence in the VR space and be able to engage with audiences on the process of how the wool is sourced and how their clothing is created from farm to fashion. They also wanted to communicate their brand values of being historic, innovative and respectful of the raw materials.
Creative
Our team was tasked to create a detailed and authentic video that showcased the true craftsmanship that goes behind the brand and its clothing. The production team went out to shoot the natural environments that the sheep thrive in and how the shearing process starts.
Users could explore the world of Woolmark through 3 different journeys. Education, Collaboration and Innovation. Education took users through the source of the wool and the environment. Collaboration showed users how the textiles can withstand extreme conditions through the lens of Pete McBride. Innovation took users through a scientific yet interesting approach to the textiles themselves.
My role was to understand the design palette, style and approach of the project. I designed and played out the thumbnails that people would first interact with once they searched and downloaded the app. Digital, In-app and website cover imagery was my remit.
